National Superintendents Institute

Palm Beach, Florida – July 11-14, 2004

Who:

This is an invitational Institute for superintendents. CLSR will send individual invitations to guests.

Experience:

Since July 1995, the Center for Leadership in School Reform (CLSR) has sponsored a National Superintendents Leadership Institute for current clients and special guests. We use this Institute to explore new ideas with trusted colleagues. The shifting relationships between and among the various actors in the education scene led CLSR to this year’s themes, dealing with issues of power, authority, and compliance. Phil Schlechty, founder and CEO of CLSR, has developed new thinking and writing about these issues, and will share his thoughts with conference participants. In addition, CLSR staff is creating new tools for superintendents who want to address issues of power, authority, and compliance within their school systems.
